Today, we operate traffic in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Germany, as well as along the critical ScanMed European rail corridor. In 2026, our German and Scandinavian operations were merged, further strengthening our presence in Central Europe and reducing cross-border friction.

A large part of our operations is based in Örebro, Sweden, where our key operational center resides. From there, production, planning and traffic management are coordinated — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring seamless cross-border train transfers and constant tracking.

The transport sector accounts for a significant share of global emissions. At Hector Rail, we see sustainable rail freight transport as an essential contributor to the future of logistics. Shifting cargo from road to rail reduces emissions significantly while multiplying highway capacity.

With a modern and versatile locomotive fleet consisting of 12 distinct locomotive types, we maximize the use of clean electricity. In Scandinavia and Germany, most of the network is electrified, enabling carbon-neutral traction using certified green electric power. Additionally, our locomotives are equipped with dual-power capability and eco-driving software, maximizing energy recapture on-the-fly.

Pioneering digitalization is key to our competitive edge. Our internal mobile dispatching and telemetry systems connect directly with on-board computer mainframes. Locomotive drivers use this custom ecosystem for real-time schedule reporting, immediate vehicle diagnostics, and automated documentation.

Furthermore, our custom customer portal gives business clients direct, secure, and transparent access to live satellite-linked tracking, instant transit ETAs, and carbon emission savings reports. Safe, continuous operations are supported by a unified team of IT specialists, Strategic Planners, and Operations coordinators.
